Great Idea but not sensitive enough for recognizing airguns. Update would be great. Thanks.
The shot timer works and does exactly what it should do. Saved myself 100+ € buying a real one.
Love it. Thanks.
Tried it today with my 10/22. It wouldnt register the shots.
Excellent shot timer for the money. Works good. Sensitivity is something you might have to turn up for smaller guns. Wont work with dry fire exercises. Buying an actual shot timer is better, but thats 200$
Sensitivity all the way up and it wont pick up a mini mag out of a Walther p22 sorry but thats still pretty freaking loud thats just pathetic
I have used this timer for AR drills. Proximity to your phone helps with accuracy on picking up shots. Nice little timer for free seeing as how stand alone units start at around 100.00. Start beep is very quite but its limited by the iPhones tiny speaker, I dont think the developers could do any more with that. I hooked up an ihome battery powered speaker and the beep is perfect through that with muffs on. Room for improvement could be a quicker reset for single fire drills otherwise it would have got five stars.
The seems like it could be a good app. The problem Im having is that most of the time it doesnt register shots. That happens even with the microphone sensitivity turned all the way up. From reading all the reviews, it seems like this is a problem that was introduced with a previous upgrade and the company just doesnt want to fix it. Too bad, this could be a really good app.
Current version does not work with current iOS. Settings menu and others inaccessible making the app useless
This used to be a really good shot timer. But an upgrade or two ago, the start "beep" became inaudible with hearing protection (you can hardly hear it without protection), rendering it mostly useless. Reported the problem, no change. Shame. Im off to try other apps.
It is working fine on my iPhone 4 even indoors. The only one I have found to work so far. Could use a few features but well worth the price ;)
Tried this at the outdoor range, with several shooters and several guns. The app will pick up the first shot *most* of the time. It will *rarely* pick up the second shot. In one test I left it one while shooting 50 rounds, at varying speeds, it picked up 16 of the shots total.
I use this app with an iPod touch and it works great under most conditions. It requires an external mic which doubles as speaker for the beep. It isnt very loud, but generally can be heard with hearing protection. The sensitivity can be adjusted to suit most firearms and conditions. It wont take the place of a dedicated shot timer, but for casual practice, it works great. Plus its free.
The problem, for me, with ads in this app is that it consumes data to deliver junk to my phone while Im at the gun range away from my wifi... This app is quite a bit like -ShotTimer-.. Which is free, has the same functions and no ads.. the shot buzzer is louder also.
I have yet to use this app on my iPhone 4S, but when I launched it I was appalled to see an ad for Progressive Insurance. I realize that ads are necessary to support the development of the app, but the owner of Progressive (Peter Lewis) is a leading contributer to anti-gun causes.
I could not get mine to work at all on my Iphone 4 with an Otterbox Defender???
Would be a great dry fire timer with this feature. Charge me a dollar :)
Add a buzzer to the par time please. Would help when running timed courses to have that audible alert when time is up. Also louder buzzer would be handy
Works fine as a timer for match or training stages once you get the sensitivity dialed in, but the PAR timer needs a second beep to indicate expiration of the PAR time. App could be very useful for live and dry-fire presentation training if the PAR timer worked properly. Ability to save and email details for each run is nice for a free app; its nice to get results to match participants before they even get home. Suggest adding a way to set sensitivity by "listening" to a shot or two; this would make sensitivity setting easier and rejection of fainter shots from adjacent ranges more reliable. Four stars for now, since the core function works; five when the PAR timer is fixed.
